What is your (business) life motto and why?

‘Over the course of my 37-year career, I have developed in a number of areas. My motto is: follow your heart and focus on things that give you a lot of energy. I also think it’s always important to stand out, to think about “what’s next”, and to delve deeper into it. That’s how you stay relevant. For me, that meant focusing on alternative investments in 2006, on sustainability since 2009, and on the use of AI since 2025.’

What reading, listening or viewing recommendations do you have for our readers, and why?

‘During a Sustainable Finance event at DNB, Tim van Hattum presented his book *Only Planet: The Climate Guide for the 21st Century*. He outlines seven paths to a hopeful future through accelerating the transition. Furthermore, my motto is ‘Fit for the Job’. So the fitter I am, the better I perform at work. In that context, the podcast ‘De Pacer’ comes highly recommended, especially if you enjoy running.’
