Charles de Quinsonas appointed Head of M&G's EMD team

Charles de Quinsonas has been appointed Head of Emerging Markets Debt at M&G. The decision follows Claudia Calich’s decision to retire after over 3 decades in the City.

De Quinsonas brings 15 years of experience in EM debt, including a 12-year partnership with Calich, managing both sovereign and corporate EM debt funds, with specific expertise in high yield credit.

To further reinforce the team, Carlos Carranza will join M&G in October as Senior EM Debt Fund Manager. He’s a seasoned EM investor with a deep focus on Latin America, having spent over 18 years at JP Morgan and more recently Allianz GI.

This evolution reflects M&G’s long-term commitment to emerging markets, providing continuity in leadership and investment approach, and laying a strong foundation for continued performance — especially at a time when robust fundamentals and shifting global narrative has bolstered many emerging economies, helping the asset class to regain its appeal among investors.
