Belinda Gan strengthens Capital Group as ESG Investment Director, Europe and Asia Client Group

Belinda Gan has been appointed as ESG Investment Director, Europe and Asia Client Group by Capital Group, effective 1 October 2021. Gan will report into Alexandra Haggard, Head of Product and Investment Services for Europe and Asia.

Based in London, Belinda will partner with Capital Group’s ESG team to lead the client servicing offering on ESG. Her responsibilities include working with clients, consultants, other intermediaries and Capital Group associates to inform and educate on Capital Group’s approach to ESG and investment philosophy across the company’s range of strategies.

Belinda’s deep subject matter knowledge and experience will be key to Capital Group supporting clients’ evolving ESG requirements.”

Belinda has more than 17 years of industry experience, with a strong focus on climate change and ESG during the past eight years. She most recently served as an Investment Director, Global Sustainability, at Schroders UK and as a member of the Investment Association’s Sustainability and Responsible Investment Committee. Belinda began her career at Goldman Sachs Australia.

Belinda is a CFA Charterholder and holds degrees in Commerce and in Business Systems from Monash University.

In 2021 Capital Group was accepted by the Financial Reporting Council as a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code and joined the UN Global Compact Initiative (UNCG). Capital Group is also a signatory to the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures and the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) reporting framework.
