Schroder Real Estate announces the completion of their first acquisition in Amsterdam on behalf of Immobilien Europa Direkt, an investment group of Zurich Investment Foundation.

Schroder Real Estate completed the acquisition of a portfolio of five freestanding office buildings in the Buitenveldert region that adjoins Amsterdam’s prime Zuidas office area. The Cuserpark office complex was developed between 2007 and 2010. It provides modern, high standard office accommodation with flexible, efficient floor plates. The property is located in an attractive park setting and enjoys excellent transport connections to the South Axis business district, the city centre and Schiphol international airport. The acquisition provides almost 11,000 sqm of office space and has a diversified tenant profile that includes Eversheds, AXA and Nielen Schuman.

The asset has been sold by the Dutch Family office, The Maarsen Groep. Advisors for the vendor include Cushman & Wakefield, Houthoff and RPS. The purchaser was advised by WLP Law, PWC and SGS.

Roger Hennig, Fund Manager of Immobilien Europa Direkt, said:

“The acquisition represents an important continuation of Immobilien Europa Direkt’s strategy of investment in high-quality assets in the winning cities of Western Europe. Cuserpark’s attractive layout and its excellent access to important business areas and infrastructure will provide the best conditions to attract top tenants and generate sustainable returns for the strategy moving forward.”

Immobilien Europa Direkt, an open-ended Euro denominated fund, was launched by Zurich Investment Foundation and has been designed specifically for Swiss pension schemes. Its investment strategy is focused on providing investors with a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate in the main western European markets.
