SKAGEN is pleased to announce the appointment of Nienke Abma and Mark Houben to its newly established Dutch office in Amsterdam. 

Since 2006 SKAGEN has gradually built up activities in the Netherlands in terms of number of clients and assets under management. To further strengthen our presence and commitment to our Dutch clients, SKAGEN is now in the process of opening an Amsterdam branch. Michiel Krauss was appointed Managing Director SKAGEN Netherlands and assumed the position on 1 February 2011. To further strengthen the team, Nienke Abma and Mark Houben will start on 1 August, working respectively with client servicing and communication. 

Nienke has over 15 years’ experience in the finance industry, both in Europe and the US. Over the years she has worked with equities sales and sales trading, client relationship management and financial communication, for employers including Petercam Bank N.V., Rabo Securities N.V., Metzler Bank and BBV Securities N.V. Nienke comes to SKAGEN from Detac B.V, where she was employed as Senior Executive Search Consultant. 

Mark has an extensive media background from the financial sector and has worked as a journalist and editor for two of the major dailies in the Netherlands, NRC Handelsblad and Het Financieele Dagblad.  Mark comes to SKAGEN from Springer Science+Business Media where he was Chief Editor and a member of the management team responsible for the development of the company’s digital strategy.

SKAGEN’s office in Amsterdam will be opened after the summer in Museumplein 5D and will be SKAGEN’s eleventh office – in addition to the six in Norway, and our offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and London.
