State Street Fund Wins Top Recognition for 10-Year Performance

Fund Offers Asset Allocation within Balanced Portfolio

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), announced that its Balanced Profile Fund won top honors in the Lipper Fund Awards 2011. The SSgA Balanced Profile Fund (P Class) received the Lipper Fund Award for best 10-year performance in the Mixed Asset EUR Bal-Global category. Utilizing a Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) framework, the fund provides exposure to Eurozone and international equities, European and international bonds of all credit categories, cash and commodities.

Launched in 1997, the Balanced Profile fund is managed by SSgA’s Multi-Asset Class Solutions (MACS) team, an experienced group of investment professionals specializing in global asset allocation strategies. The SSgA MACS team manages more than US$201.6 billion in assets globally.

“We are delighted to be recognized for the performance of our Balanced Profile Fund,” said Frédéric Dodard, head of the MACS team in Europe, Middle East and Africa. “This award reflects the disciplined approach of our MACS team and underscores the importance of our TAA process, which employs quantitative valuation across asset classes with strict risk management."

The Balanced Profile Fund has also outperformed its benchmark over one-, three-, and five-year time frames as well since its inception.

“In today’s dynamic market, approaching decision-making from a tactical asset allocation approach is more important than ever for institutional investors,” added Benoît Fally, senior managing director at SSgA. “By doing so, they can manage against virtually any global benchmark, composite or investment universe while also benefitting from opportunities arising from the increased level of volatility.”

The Lipper Fund Awards, awarded in 21 countries worldwide, recognize consistent outperformance of individual funds and of fund companies. Winning funds have demonstrated consistently strong risk-adjusted returns compared with peers.

In recent years, SSgA’s range of European funds has expanded significantly, providing investors with a diverse selection of UCITS III-compliant strategies. These index, enhanced and active investment strategies include equity, fixed income, tactical asset allocation, regional, global, country, sector, emerging markets, real estate and socially responsible investing.

In France, with more than 100 SICAV and FCP funds (as of December 31, 2010) representing 132 share classes, the range of equity and fixed-income funds offered by SSgA targets both domestic and international institutional investors.
